What feedback did you get? More or less favorable than bicameral mind?

Nobody really knows the bicameral mind, so I think by default more favorable than that. There were a couple hostile questions, but overall reception was good. (And in some ways the hard questions helped because I had answers.) Multiple people asked for slides, and I spent basically the rest of the conference talking about the theory at length with probably a dozen or so people. Lots of good practice on elevator pitch.

I added a couple slides to this deck based on the most common feedback. Notably, to close by giving a more concrete timeline.

edit: oh, one of my favorite conversations was about the Bicameral Mind. I was talking about the evolution of self-awareness with a guy and he brought up the difference between the illiad and the odyssey. I assumed he was going to talk about Jaynes, but he had never heard of him! Not only that, but he independently thought that the Illiad was more schizophrenic than the Odyssey. I couldn't believe it, so really grilled him about never reading it. Wonder how many independent inventions there are of wacky ideas. (When researching the Snake Cult I found another blogger who also said that some conflict with a snake was involved in the realization of "I am.")

Do you cross post your podcasts to other services? Substack’s player is less than ideal

Not yet, I should start YouTube, Spotify, and Apple though. Any others? (Also thanks for letting me know.)

YouTube is probably the most important one, especially w/your visuals! Can’t say I use anything else besides the three you listed, so that probably covers 90% of your potential off-Substack audience.
